Bringing Smiles to the Orphaned/Abandoned Children

“We do have a lot of things to be thankful for. At Perennial, we believe in the importance of sharing with those in need.”

Each holiday season, Perennial Cares holds a gift‐giving event and reaches out to the orphaned and at-risk youth across Manila – children who have lost parental care, kids who don’t have a family to call their own, children who have lived in great hostility in the streets, or those who have developed psychological and emotional problems during their early ages. In December 2013, Perennial Cares visited Virlanie Foundation, an institution which provides help to street kids who were abandoned, abused or neglected. In December 2014, Perennial Cares also visited Missionaries of Charity Home of Joy, a home which cares for the orphans, the abandoned, the sick and the poorest of the poor.

It was our pleasure to spend time with these kids. They all had big smiles on their faces when we interacted with them. Towards the end of each visit, the volunteers served meals and handed out gifts. It was a rewarding experience to bring smiles to innocent faces. Perennial Cares understands that we all have the capacity to bring good into the world, and we are humbled to share it with the less fortunate ones.
